Small Hotel & Lodge Assistant

Introduction

The Small Hotel & Lodge Assistant course is designed to develop the competency and efficiency of the aspirants who want to excel their career in hotel and restaurant operation and management. It’s a practice based course and the trainees will have the fundamental skills and knowledge essential to assist in the operation and management of small hotels and lodges in the actual work setting.

Course Objectives

After the completion of the training, trainees will have the knowledge of: 

  • Necessary equipment and tools used in small hotels and lodges,
  • Maintaining occupational safety and security, health and sanitation at the workplace,  
  • Customer services,
    • Front office and Housekeeping services,
    • Food production and Food & beverage services,
    • Bartending and restaurant services,
    • Store and supplies management,
    • Assistance in operation and management of small hotels and lodges.

Course Duration

3 months (390 hours) including 1 month of OJT (On-the job/internship) at
Hotel Le Himalaya in Kathmandu and The Lakeside Retreat in Pokhara.

  • Interested individuals with educational qualification of SEE / SLC and above,
  • Those looking for part-time work in hotels, inns, and restaurants before and after they travel to study abroad,
  • Aspiring business owners wishing to establish hotels, lodges, inns and motel,
  • Individuals who are passionate about the hospitality industry and wish to work there.

Certification

Upon completion of the training, the trainees will be issued a Nationally/Internationally recognizable certificate (Hospitality Management/Small Hotel and Lodge Assistant/Barista /Bartender) from Kathmandu Technical School (KTS) in affiliation to Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).
